OVERVIEW:
The client had more than 1,000 small footprint locations across the United States. The volume of utility bills required separate staffing and left little to no time for auditing. The client also needed a reporting and analytics tool for insights about each location’s energy use.

SOLUTION:
Stark’s intelligence software ControlFreak, a utility bill management software system, (UBMS) was implemented with an aggressive schedule. The team developed a roll-out plan that started by collecting 12 months of billing history. In addition, the roll-out required little resources by our client. The Intelligence team implemented automation technology for the majority of tests.

RESULTS:
The client uses the streamlined utility bill automation software for rate class optimization and energy procurement services. The client realized a return on investment of four months with total annual program savings between $3 million and $6 million.
